You can make money on X/Twitter through two core revenue streams: Subscriptions and Ads Revenue Sharing. These are X/Twitter’s official monetization methods, which can be accessed with an X Premium or Verified Organizations account. Epidemic Sound
How do you activate X/Twitter monetization?
- If you’re eligible for X/Twitter monetization, head to the ‘Monetization’ tab. You’ll find this in the side menu on mobile, or the overflow menu on desktop.
- Click ‘join and set up payouts,’ which redirects you to the platform’s payment processor, Stripe.
- Create a Stripe account and fill in your banking details when prompted.

X/Twitter monetization requirements (Eligibility Standards)
Creators who monetize on X must meet the following requirements:
- You must reside in a country in which X’s monetization programs are available.
- You must be 18 or older.
- You must have a X account that has been active for at least 3 months.
- You must have a complete profile inclusive of an account name, a bio, a profile picture, and a header image.
- You must have a verified email address.
- You must have secured your account with two factor authentication.
- You must not be designated a state-affiliated media account.
- You must be in good standing with X (no repeated violations).
- You must have an active Premium, Premium Business, or Premium Organizations subscription.
- You must connect a verified Stripe account.
- You must complete identity verification.
